Happy Thanksgiving

Just a quick note to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday! We have much to be thankful for and it would not have been possible if not for our clients.

As the new season is quickly approaching we have many new developments underway. Our new automated client software, powered by ShootQ, now allows our clients to log into their own accounts and make changes or updates as needed in regards to their wedding day details. More on this later.

In addition to the wedding client software we have re-joined forces with Pictage. Pictage is an online hosting solution that not only offers on line hosting of client files and ordering of those prints, but also features new product selections such as greeting cards, canvas prints, custom designed albums, and framed artwork. In addition to the foregoing we chose this partnership to help facilitate a more efficient ordering system for our clients. Now upon completion of the on line order a team of professionals will get to work right away processing the order to insure our clients get their products in a quick and accurate manor. We are excited to see where this relationship goes. Due to the new partnerships the old sites will eventually be coming down. All jobs will be migrated over prior to the removal of those sites.

Thanks again for an amazing year and enjoy the time with your families!

Tis The Season

Wow! It is hard to believe that another year of amazing moments and memories is almost behind us. As I prepare for tomorrow’s magazine cover shoot I am reminded that this will be the first Saturday in a while without a wedding to be present at.

While the season is about ended the work here the studio is just beginning. I and the rest of the team have already begun our process of planning for next year. Keep your eyes posted on the blog here as we will soon be publishing the date of our holiday open house. I do hope each and every person who made this year a success will stop by and take part as we unveil the new look of Michael’s Artistic Imagery.

Congratulations Paige and John

Words can not express how much fun I had this past Friday. Paige and John were absolutely a blast to work with and one could easily see they put a lot of effort into their day.

For those who read the previous post you know already we had the privilege to work with Ami Davenport at this wedding. Ami joined us from Olympia Washington and brought her 15+ years of expertise along for what turned out to be a wonderful time.

I know I speak for Ami as well when I say congratulations Paige and John and thank you for sharing such an important day with us. Below are a few highlights from the day including and Image from Ami. For a more detailed look at this event be sure to visit our Proofing partner at www.pictage.com and enter event ID 577469 in the search field.

Congratulations Megan and Matt

We had the pleasure of working with a wonderful couple this past weekend. Megan and Matt shared their day with us and the wedding was amazing. As the couple shared their vows they wrote to each other I doubt there was a dry eye in the church. Both truly spoke from the heart and it is very seldom that I am left speechless. This day was definitely the exception. Congratulations you two and thank you for sharing you day, your memories, and your new life with us.

New Proofing Site!

Our new proofing site is now live! We finally just realized to have complete control of our work so our clients received the best service meant no more outsourcing of our hosting. Our new server allows us to host our own proofing site. This new site has many features that put control not only in our hands but our clients as well. As an example our clients can now create and manage their very own gift registry for weddings, maternity sessions, and even high school senior sessions. In addition the print credit, featured in all of our wedding packages, can now be easily tracked and provided to the client so that our clients can also take advantage of our online ordering. While I am sure we will have a few tweaks to manage I have already received rave reviews from those utilizing the site. To see the site for yourself visit the following link
Art Work

Welcome to the Team Ashley

I would like to welcome to the team Ashley Daily. Ashley comes to us a student from Bradley University who has a major in marketing with an emphasis on graphic design. She has since taken over the initial editing of our wedding work. This move will help us create a more efficient work flow and thus deliver our files to our clients in a drastically improved time frame. In addition to the initial edits she is quickly becoming quite the artist herself and I, for one, look forward to seeing what she has bottled up inside her creative mind! Welcome to the team Ashley.

An “Extreme” Honor

for those of you who did not know we were fortunate enough to be selected to be part of the “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” in Pekin Illinois this past week. Our photography services, and some good old fashion manual labor, were utilized in providing a complete documentary coverage of the landscaping and fence installation in the back yard.

While the day started at 3:00AM for myself and our team the atmosphere did plenty to keep me warm in the 34 degree morning air. The moving part was watching so many volunteers take to the grounds to make this makeover something very special. While there have been plenty of emotional moments for me as a photographer in the past years, this one was no exception and played heavy on my emotions for the following days. Never have I seen so many people of all races and colors come together in such a fashion for one common cause. It was amazing.

While we did not get to meet Ty Pennington himself I did get the privilege to meet Michael Moloney. Ty was present on our second and the final day of the set but trust me when I say he was busy putting on the final touches.

Our images will be available soon for all those interested. However per the agreement with ABC and our marketing company contract we have to hold those images till the actual show is aired. My hopes is that someday ABC will air the behind the scenes show. You have no idea how large this thing is until you see it with your own eyes. There was more than 5 square blocks of tents, RV’s, security guards, and even a mess hall for those involved to go get something to eat. And all of this was active 24 hours a day with no stopping. Extreme? You bet! Amazing is a better word.

Starting Fresh

While the year has been extremely crazy it would appear as though this blog is of little reflection of our year. Unfortunately as we left the blog open for comments to be added we found ourselves in the middle of internet robots leaving posts to everything from adult drugs to adult sites. Therefore we revamped the settings and started fresh to make sure that you, our valued readers, were not effected by the inappropriate posts. Thank you for your understanding.
